Medical Service Disclaimers

Medical Service Disclosures

The following comprehensive disclaimers define the scope and limitations of all diagnostic services provided.

General Scope of Service and Disclaimers

1. Diagnostic Facilitation Only: Henotic Diagnostics acts strictly as a **facilitator** for diagnostic testing and appointment booking, partnering exclusively with **accredited diagnostic laboratories**. We are **not** a direct medical provider. We do not treat, diagnose, or cure any medical conditions. Our communications use a neutral, professional, and informative tone to promote convenience, transparency, and accessibility.

2. Not Medical Advice: The reports, images, and results generated are intended for the information of the referring physician and the patient. These results **do not constitute medical advice**, diagnosis, or a recommendation for treatment.

3. Clinical Correlation Required: All findings must be correlated with the patient’s clinical history, physical examination, and other data by a qualified and licensed **healthcare provider**. The ultimate responsibility for patient management, treatment decisions, and counseling rests exclusively with the patient’s attending physician.

4. Testing Limitations: No diagnostic procedure is 100% accurate. Results are subject to technical limitations, equipment performance, human factors in interpretation, biological variability, and the stage of disease progression.

Transparency, Pricing, and Compliance

1. Full Price Disclosure: The **total cost** of any service, including the full payment model and any associated fees, will be clearly disclosed to the user **prior to finalizing the purchase**. We prohibit bait-and-switch tactics; advertised prices match the actual purchase cost with no hidden conditions. We do not engage in inflated or unfair pricing practices.

2. Truthful Messaging: We strictly avoid restricted health claims, unverifiable promises, fear-based, sensational, or manipulative messaging. All information about our services, licenses, and qualifications is accurate and truthful. We do not use false endorsements or unauthorized affiliations.

3. Data and Privacy: We are committed to transparency in data collection. Sensitive medical data is **never** collected without explicit, transparent user consent. We strictly adhere to data protection and privacy regulations and do not mimic trusted entities for data capture.

Imaging and Sonography Services Disclaimer

Covers: Ultrasound, Mammography, HSG, SSG, Colour Doppler, etc.

1. Assessment, Not Guarantee: Imaging studies are diagnostic tools for assessment. They may not detect all underlying pathology, especially in early or microscopic stages of disease, or when obscured by factors such as patient body habitus, bowel gas, scar tissue, or suboptimal acoustic windows.

2. Obstetric Ultrasound (Including 3D/4D/TVS/Doppler):

  • Fetal Weight & Dating: Estimated Fetal Weight (EFW) and Gestational Age are estimates only and may vary significantly from the actual birth weight or date.
  • Fetal Anomaly Scan: This scan is designed to detect major structural anomalies. **It cannot detect all fetal conditions.** The sensitivity is high but not absolute.
  • Sex Determination: Fetal sex determination is strictly prohibited by law (PCPNDT Act) and will not be performed or communicated.

3. Mammography: Mammography is a key screening tool but has inherent limitations, particularly in dense breast tissue. A negative mammogram does not definitively rule out the presence of breast cancer. Further workup may be required based on clinical suspicion.

4. HSG / SSG Procedures: These procedures assess tubal patency and carry minor risks. The results reflect tubal status at the time of the procedure only.

Women’s Health, Fertility, and Prenatal Screening

Covers: Follicular Studies, NIPT/NIPS, ANC Profiles.

1. Follicular Studies: Measurements indicate the potential for ovulation but do not guarantee it or conception. Clinical correlation with hormonal assays is necessary.

2. Non-Invasive Prenatal Screening (NIPT/NIPS):

  • **Screening Only:** NIPT/NIPS is a **screening test**, not a diagnostic test.
  • **Confirmation Required:** A **”high-risk” or “positive” result must be confirmed** by an invasive diagnostic procedure (amniocentesis or CVS) before any definitive medical action.
  • **False Results:** The test carries a small, inherent risk of false positive and false negative results.

3. ANC Profiles (Antenatal Care): These blood tests monitor maternal and fetal health status. Any critical or highly abnormal results warrant immediate discussion and intervention by the obstetrician.

Sexual Health Testing Disclaimer

1. Confidentiality: All sexual health testing results are handled with the utmost confidentiality.

2. Window Period: Testing for certain infections (e.g., HIV, Hepatitis) may have a “window period” where infection is not detectable. A negative result during this period may require retesting.

3. Counseling and Treatment: A positive result for any sexually transmitted infection (STI) requires immediate and appropriate medical counseling and treatment from a specialist, which is outside the scope of this diagnostic facility.

Advanced Cross-Sectional and Functional Imaging

Covers: CT Scan, MRI Scan, PET Scan, and DEXA.

1. Modality Risks and Contraindications:

  • CT/PET: Involves radiation/radioactive tracers. Risks and benefits must be weighed by the referring physician.
  • MRI: Uses strong magnetic fields. Patients with certain metallic implants or pacemakers **must disclose these prior to the scan**.
  • DEXA: Assesses Bone Mineral Density (BMD) and must be interpreted in the context of clinical risk factors.

2. Contrast Agents: The use of contrast media carries a minor risk of adverse reaction. The patient must provide informed consent and report any history of allergies or kidney disease.

3. Incidental Findings: Advanced imaging may identify incidental findings unrelated to the primary reason for the examination. These findings require discussion with the patient’s treating physician.

Cardiac Diagnostics

Covers: ECG, 2D Echo, TMT, Holter Monitoring, and Stress Echo.

1. ECG and Holter Monitoring: These tests assess electrical activity. A normal result does not exclude structural heart disease or future cardiac events. Holter monitoring may fail to capture infrequent arrhythmias.

2. Stress Testing (TMT / Stress Echo):

  • These tests intentionally stress the heart and **carry inherent, though low, risks** of cardiac events. The procedure is performed under strict medical supervision.
  • A negative result indicates low likelihood of significant coronary artery disease at the time of the test, but sensitivity is not 100%.

3. 2D Echocardiography and Stress Echo: Image quality is dependent on the patient’s cooperation and acoustic window. Suboptimal studies may necessitate further testing.

Laboratory Services and Full-Body Health Check-ups

Covers: Blood Tests, Pathology, and Health Check-up Packages.

1. Pre-test Compliance: Patient compliance with pre-test instructions (e.g., fasting) is critical. We are not responsible for errors arising from a patient’s failure to follow preparatory guidelines.

2. Reference Ranges: Laboratory results are compared to established reference intervals which can vary. Values slightly outside the range may not be clinically relevant and require physician interpretation.

3. Health Check-up Limitations: A **Full-Body Health Check-up** is a preventative **screening** measure, **not** a guarantee of current health or freedom from all diseases. Some conditions may not be detectable by the panel of tests included.

By utilizing any service provided by this facility, the patient and the referring physician acknowledge and accept the terms of these disclaimers and the facilitator role of Henotic Diagnostics.
